Tennis Courts Gold Coast & Brisbane

Surface Pro Group specialises in the construction, installation and resurfacing of tennis courts across the Gold Coast, Brisbane and South East Queensland.

We offer both acrylic hard court and synthetic grass tennis court surfaces, allowing us to recommend the right system for your property, playing requirements and budget.

Acrylic tennis courts provide a durable, professional playing surface with consistent ball bounce, excellent traction and a wide range of colour options. Synthetic grass tennis courts provide a softer surface underfoot with excellent drainage, low maintenance requirements and comfortable year-round play.

Whether you’re building a new private tennis court, upgrading a school or sporting facility, or resurfacing an existing court, our experienced team can help you choose the most suitable surface and system for your project.

Synthetic Grass Tennis Courts

Synthetic grass is a popular choice for residential, school and recreational tennis courts, particularly for players looking for a comfortable, low-maintenance surface. The sand-filled synthetic turf system provides a softer feel underfoot while still delivering reliable ball response and excellent drainage.

  • UV resistant artificial grass

  • Cooler tennis court temperature in hot weather conditions
  • Year-round usage
  • Durability – artificial grass tennis courts are hard wearing and long lasting
  • Cost effectiveness overtime with minimal ongoing maintenance costs or effort

  • Australian made, purpose designed synthetic tennis court grass
  • Improve the look and value of your home
  • Great ball bounce and gentle on your joints

Acrylic Tennis Courts

Acrylic tennis courts are an excellent choice for players, schools, clubs and private facilities looking for a durable, high-performance hard court surface with consistent ball response.

Surface Pro Group constructs and resurfaces acrylic tennis courts throughout the Gold Coast, Brisbane and South East Queensland. Acrylic court systems can be applied in a range of colours and finishes, allowing the playing area, surrounds and line marking to be customised to suit the facility.

Acrylic surfaces provide excellent traction and predictable ball bounce, making them suitable for everything from residential courts to schools, sporting clubs and commercial facilities. Existing hard courts can also often be rejuvenated through repairs and acrylic resurfacing rather than requiring complete reconstruction.

Our team can assess the existing base, drainage and surface condition and recommend the appropriate preparation and surfacing system for your court.

How Much Does a Tennis Court Cost?

The cost of building or resurfacing a tennis court depends on several factors, including the chosen surface, condition of the existing base, site access, drainage, fencing and whether an existing court surface needs to be removed.

Both acrylic and synthetic grass tennis courts have different preparation and installation requirements, so we assess each project individually before providing a quote.

Should you have an old tennis court that needs repairs,  re-sanding or resurfacing we can also help to get the ball rolling, check out our dedicated tennis court resurfacing page.

Choosing a Tennis Court Builder & Installer

Considering that a tennis court is quite a big investment (both in terms of size and money), you’ll want to ensure that you select the right company for the big job at hand. Not only is it important to find a provider that has installed tennis courts specifically before, but it’s also critical to find one that is familiar working with synthetic turf or acrylic surfacing specifically to tennis courts. To help you find the best person for the job, here are some questions that you can ask:

  • How many synthetic turf tennis courts have you completed?
  • How long will the project take to complete?
  • Which type of turf will you use?
  • Do you offer any warranties?
  • Do you offer any maintenance services?
  • Do your employees have the necessary qualifications?
  • Do you have any references that I may contact?
  • Will you be able to replace any damaged sections in the future?
  • Will it meet Australian Safety Standards?
  • How does the payment process work, and do you require a deposit?

Tennis Court FAQs – Brisbane & Gold Coast

How much space do I need for my tennis court?

In Australia, synthetic grass tennis courts come in various sizes and can be tailored to match the space that you have available. That said, the measurements of a standard court are 36.5 m by 18.3 m. In total, this adds up to about 669 square metres. For recreational purposes, though, you can get away with it being slightly smaller as you don’t need as much distance behind the baseline for running or to the sides.

Will a tennis ball bounce well on synthetic grass?

Yes. While the ball bounces lower on natural grass and synthetic grass surfaces, you’ll have enough speed for an exciting game of tennis. All in all, you can look forward to the same performance that grass courts deliver.

Will I need to cover the court during winter?

Unlike clay tennis courts that can’t be enjoyed in all weather conditions, our tennis court synthetic turf  and acrylic courts can withstand all of the elements. So, if it’s safe to do so, you’ll be able to play tennis all-year round including during winter without worrying about covering the court. Unlike natural grass courts there is no need for watering, mowing or fertilising to maintain year-round lush and playable green.
